The History of these Islands!
Why do such tiny little islands have their own identity as a country? Nestled in the inner curve of the African continent, it seems strange that two such small landmasses would not have been claimed by one of their very close neighbors. From the Congo and Gabon to the south, tiny Equatorial Guinea to the immediate east, and the relative giants of Cameroon and Nigeria to the north, it's clear to see that Sao Tome and Principe must have a unique perspective and special history to explain how they remained independent.
